Turkey Vultures roost in groups and forage for food on their own. They often stand with wings spread to dry the wings, warm the body and bake off bacteria.
The Turkey Vulture, or Buzzard, is found in North and South America. They are large birds with red head and legs and an ivory bill. The head is void of feathers as an adaptation to reduce risk of disease from carcasses as it eats. They find their meals using their keen vision and sense of smell.
