Mallards are familiar ducks of lakes or ponds found throughout temperate and sub-tropical areas of North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. Males have a green head with white around the neck, a brown chest, grey and white sides and a yellow bill, legs and feet. Females are all brown with orange and black on the bill. Females also have small blue and white wing marks.
